Douglas Abbott graduated from the University of California at Berkeley in 1969 with a B.A. degree in political science. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Hastings College of Law in 1972. Since 1973, Doug has been assisting clients with a variety of legal matters in courts in Santa Clara, San Mateo and Alameda counties.
Doug’s goal is to serve his clients as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. In legal matters involving disputes, he attempts to avoid litigation, if possible. If a matter cannot be settled and litigation ensues, Doug continues to seek to resolve the dispute with as few court appearances as possible. Doug believes this approach is in the client’s best interest, especially in family law matters. He also is willing to assist clients who have chosen to represent themselves. Doug has reasonable consultation fees and a low hourly rate.
Douglas Abbott is a member of the California State Bar and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court, Northern District of California. Doug also is a member of the Adventist Laymen’s Services and Industries and the Ohlone Humane Society. Doug is a member of several legal organizations including the following:
